TriQuint in the News

News & Discoveries

Revolutionary PowerBand™ Redefines Wideband RF: TriQuint has unveiled its revolutionary new PowerBand™ discrete RF transistor family that offers unmatched wide-band performance and power added efficiency (PAE) of 50% or more. TriQuint’s new technology is ideally suited for broadband applications including radar, signal jammer and wireless communications. Previous broadband market solutions traded-off performance to achieve relative wide-band service. TriQuint’s PowerBand™ innovation achieves high power performance (up to 50 Watts), plus unprecedented bandwidth coverage (500 MHz to 3 GHz) without sacrificing efficiency. PowerBand™ debuted November 17th at MILCOM 2008, the military communications conference and exhibit in San Diego, (USA).
Raytheon Gives TriQuint 4-Star Award: TriQuint was recently honored by Raytheon Company’s Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) with four-star recognition for quality, delivery performance and customer satisfaction. TriQuint was one of 15 companies honored and one of only two that received top, four-star awards. TriQuint supplies Raytheon with chipsets for phased array radar and other critical programs. Receiving the award for TriQuint were Vice President Tom Cordner and Military Products Marketing Director Dr. Gailon Brehm. “We’re extremely proud of being recognized by Raytheon SAS. Our team has worked very diligently to support Raytheon on many programs,” said Mr. Cordner. Dr. Brehm added that the award was especially important because those working with defense and aerospace products see it as special assignment – helping to protect service men and women around the world.

Build mmWave Applications with Our New Processes: TriQuint introduced two new 150mm high-volume GaAs processes for cost-effectively building mmWave applications, TQP25 and TQP15. These new pHEMT processes utilize optical lithography technology to substantially reduce cost when compared to traditional E-beam based solutions. TQP15 and TQP25 join the previously announced and fully released .13um optical self aligned gate depletion pHEMT process, TQP13 , expanding TriQuint’s commercial foundry pHEMT offerings to service the entire range of mmW frequencies. TQP25 is currently available in limited release and TQP15 will be in limited release at the end of Q4'08.
