Environment, Health, & Safety

At TriQuint Semiconductor, environmental responsibility and employee health and safety are integral to our business. We believe that conserving resources, preventing pollution, and reducing impact to the environment and the health of our employees contribute to the financial health of our operations as well as the economic prosperity of our stockholders, the community and our employees. TriQuint has systems built around the idea of continuous improvement, with metrics that measure our environmental, health and safety impact, and business processes that set objectives within these areas. Safety is built into our processes and operations. We provide information and training to our employees, suppliers, customers and the public designed to instill a belief in quality, environmental responsibility and health and safety while informing them about TriQuint's environmental stewardship. As a demonstration of our commitment to a better environment, TriQuint's manufacturing sites are in the process of implementing management systems designed to achieve compliance to the ISO14001:2004 standard.

TriQuint has reduced its airborne emissions of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) significantly by using DFE (design for environment) process improvements and better treatment technologies. Our waste management practices have allowed TriQuint to reuse and recycle some materials, conserve natural resources through energy recovery, and treat or dispose of other manufacturing effluents in ways not previously possible. These practices have allowed our manufacturing sites to become small quantity generators of waste and recycle millions of gallons of water each year. In addition, TriQuint people work to make manufactured products easy to recycle and dispose of at end of life.

Health and safety is designed into the tools and procedures used to make our products. Training is provided to ensure that employees are compliant with operational protocols. Emergency Response Teams provide immediate response to any chemical spill or leak, an ill or injured employee or any other incident.

An important aspect of environmental responsibility is reducing the volume of hazardous material in circulation worldwide. TriQuint is committed to being compliant with Europe Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation. For more information, please go to our RoHS web page.
